About
About TATT
The Academic Think Tank (TATT) was founded to address a simple observation: universities everywhere face similar challenges, yet they often tackle them in isolation. TATT brings together researchers, educators, and practitioners from across the globe to share best practices, challenge prevailing traditions, and develop consensus on the future of the university.
Why TATT exists
Four convictions that brought our members together.
Individual university development is often slowed by dominant prevailing traditions
Universities throughout the world face similar challenges
A consensus for innovative university development might empower individual institutions to act
Appreciation of cultural similarities and differences gives a richer global perspective
How we work
Global meetings
We meet regularly via video conference, bringing together perspectives from Sweden, Japan, Canada, the USA, Turkey, the Netherlands, the UK, and beyond.
Published summaries
After each meeting we publish a summary of key takeaways, making our discussions accessible to the wider academic community.
Collaborative outputs
Our members write blog posts, articles, and other outputs. We are developing a podcast series titled 'CIA Talks' β Culture in Academia.
Get involved
TATT is an open-minded, collegial group. If you work in or around higher education and share our vision for a better academy, we'd love to hear from you.
